At our best, we want to support young teams of engineers and maker students from all over the world as much as we can.
Recently, ELEGOO established a sponsorship relationship with YNOT Robotics, YNOT Robotics is the VEX U Competitive Robotics Team at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. VEX U Robotics is an international collegiate-level robotics competition in which teams design, fabricate, build, program, and drive custom robots to play against each other in a yearly game.
YNOT, UT’s Vex University Robotics Team, earned the title of World Champions at the 2021 VEXU Robotics World Championship in Greenville, Texas. The team also earned the Excellence Award, the highest award presented in the VEX Robotics competition. This award is presented to the team that exemplifies overall excellence in building a high-quality robotics program including design innovation, build quality, autonomous programming, engineering design process, personal interview, and documentation through an engineering notebook.
Grant Kobes, the senior in industrial and systems engineering, is the founder and lead designer for YNOT. He launched the team four years ago as a project for his Honors Leadership Studies minor through the Honors Leadership Program. His goal was to create an opportunity for UT engineering students to gain hands-on experience with the engineering design process and creating a competitive environment at UT in which they could apply them. The team also prides itself on its outreach to local schools, promoting STEM through robotics to an even younger audience.
Back to the topic, the YNOT robotics team is currently participating in the VEX Robotics Competition Tipping Point: 2021-2022 Game, we wish them a better result in this competition and are proud of them!
