The Concordia University Formula EV Racing Team (Montreal, QC) was founded in 1979. The team participated in the SAE Michigan International Competition in June this year. Over 2,500 students (100-200 teams) from more than 75 universities participated in each competition.
ELEGOO Providing the team with a brand new Neptune 3 Pro 3D printer, a Mercury Plus v2 wash and curing station, and ABS-like resin! To use these machines to make parts for their EV car, including parts made of fireproof ABS filament!
At the heart of they additive manufacturing operations now lies the Neptune 3 Pro 3d printer. With its dual-gear direct extruder, auto bed leveling, and magnetic PEI sheet, this printer empowers us to bring our design concepts to life with speed and precision.
Neptune 3 Pro make it an ideal choice for the team, allowing members to allocate more resources towards research and development, less time on troubleshooting, and no more failed prints! They’ve already started using this printer to produce UL-94-V-0 (fire-resistant) parts using special UL certified ABS filament. This fire-resistant ABS is crucial for the safety of the battery pack, and this special filament requires very high nozzle temperatures, something other 3d printers have struggled with in the past.
By integrating the Mercury v2 into their workflow, they can focus on refining the designs and optimizing the race car's performance, instead of manually washing and curing prints.
